I have decided to colonize ice planet P95839307. It is at 2:-4:5 Now have to wait 4:57 min. Is there I should be sending along with the drop ship?

I would send a recycler or so if your dropship doesnt have the fuel capacity to reach its destination alone. otherwise, sent it alone.

I currently have enough CU, but again i have found most of my res going to researching offense more so than to building up my colonization building. I have slowly began to build it up once again, and hope to have my dropship ready within the week.

I can understand that Tetrahedron. It wasnt until after I had Battleships, Missle silos, and bio-scanner built that I started going for 2nd planet. I wanted a good strong home planet base to work from.

Just so everyone knows.
If you send ships with you drop ship to supplement fuel you will lose them.

Aye, which really sucks.

I lost a size-able chunk of my fleet while under the impression that my pilots would have the brains to not attempt to colonize the planet. With their faces. Planet vs face does not bode well.

Regarding location of 2nd planet, When we were just starting to think about a 2nd planet we had thought it would be better to be centrally located to create a stronghold and then we would gradually spread out. With that said Agrajag and Apathic are at 2:-5:6 system, I am at 2:-4:5, Dicomamouk is at 2:-8:5. Harbinger76 is at 2:3:38, and TheXon is at 2:-28:-28 (had 2nd planet prior to joining)
So to answer your question you can go anywhere but it would be nice if we all were centralized. This makes trade and military operations that much easier, and the overall security of all of us that much stronger as a group vs. spread out.

Centrally located makes a lot of sense. It takes a long time to send fleets across the galaxy. As we spread out from the center we will be able to help our outer colonies quicker.
